The first ENEA-ICTP agreement’s fellowship at the starting line

With the arrival of its first fellow, the implementation of the ENEA-ICTP[1] Agreement has officially taken off.

Actually, Dr. Lalit Gupta, from the Indian Institute for Plasma Research IPR-Ahemdabad,  has started his six-month research fellowship at ENEA-Frascati under the supervision of Gian Piero Gallerano, Head of the Radiation Sources, Antennas and Diagnostics Laboratory of the Plasma Physics Division within the Fusion and Technology for Nuclear Safety and Security Department.

More in details, the fellow is joining the ENEA CARM (Cyclotron Auto Resonant Maser) Task Force, aimed at the development of a high power 250 GHz radiation source for Electron Cyclotron Resonance Heating (ECRH) of fusion plasmas. Through the ENEA-ICTP support, the fellow will contribute to the experimental activity in progress for the design and characterization of the CARM waveguide resonator (CARM Cold Test).

In the upcoming months, other international fellows, recruited on a highly competitive basis in the international research arena, will be hosted at the ENEA Labs and Research Centres, in the framework of the partnership between ENEA and ICTP.
