The Action will develop innovative nanostructured materials creating the conditions for their adequate implementation in stationary and transport applications to sustain in medium-long terms the economies of European countries. Establishment of a Pan-European and multidisciplinary research and communication platform that can develop the Science & Technology potential of, SSHS thus contributing actively to the regional and European economy and social welfare.
This COST Action was started in October 2011 and will last for four years: nowadays more than 160 researchers coming from 21 European Countries and from 3 Institutions from non-COST Countries participate in this Action.
The first Scientific Meeting of COST Action MP1103 will be held in ENEA, Lungotevere Thaon di Revel, 76, Rome, 13-15 February 2012.
This Meeting will include a Plenary Session with prestigious speakers, the Kick Off Meetings of the Action’s Working Groups and a round table discussion among young researchers.
Four Working Groups will aim to activate the scientific debate and the consequent synergy:
- Synthesis of novel materials with optimized properties
- High resolution and high sensitivity characterization of atomic level structure and of microstructural features
- Characterization of hydrogen storage properties both at the laboratory level and at the scale of prototype tanks
- Computational modelling of processes relevant to SSHS.
