As of June 30, 2026, the average age of the workforce is 52 years, for both men (1297) and women (976).

Having regard to the workforce (with permanent contract) distribution, we can note a major focus in the technical-scientific departments with 2.018 (89%) units.

Having regard to the workforce professional background, we can note that majority of workforce has a technical-scientific background, with 1.509 (66%) units between researchers and technicians (including managers), spread among the different levels, 601 (27%) technical assistants and operators, and remaining 163 (7%) units employed as administrative officers, assistants and operators.

Having regard to the distribution of the workforce by education, we note that 68% (1.548) of the workforce has a university degree (bachelor or master), of which 41% (637) has a PhD.

Deep diving into the data further, we can note that 82% (1.271) has an education in engineering, scientific, health sciences and 18% (277) has an education in social or liberal arts.

Referring to the workforce with a diploma background, it sums up to 30% (677) units, of which 363 (54%) with technical diplomas and 314 (46%) back office. Workforce with lower education (without diploma) counts to 48 units (2%).
