Biography

Born in Frosinone, Italy, on the 16th of March, 1973, she graduated in legal studies from the University of Rome “Sapienza”, and is a lawyer and a statutory auditor.

She has been serving as President of ENEA, the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development, since June 2025.

From 2020 to 2023, she was Director General of Confindustria, coordinating their institutional, national, and international activities, and managing their administration. A specialist in fiscal and accounting matters, having worked as tax consultant and for some banking trade associations, she was the Director of Confindustria’s Fiscal Policy Area for about ten years. As part of this role, she defined the Association’s policies on taxation, accounting, and State aid, and the management of its institutional economic relations.

Since 2024 she has held the position of independent member of the Board of Directors of Almaviva Group, a leading Italian IT and digital innovation corporation, participating also in their Sustainability Committee. In the same year, she joined the Board of Directors of Saipem, a global leading company  in engineering and infrastructure for the energy sector, where she chairs the Remuneration and Appointments Committee and participates in the Sustainability, Scenarios and Governance Committee; she is the President of the Board of Statutory Auditors of CESI, a world-leading company in the field of technology and innovation for the electric power sector. Since 2022, she has held the position of independent member of the Board of Directors of Aboca, an Italian healthcare company, and in the Board of Statutory Auditors of Edulia del Sapere Treccani, an Italian limited liability company specializing in training and learning support services.

She had previously served in analogous roles across various leading organizations in the media (Mediaset S.p.A.), banking (Widiba S.p.A.) and healthcare (I.W.S. S.p.A.) sectors.

She chaired or participated in various organizations and committees: President of the Ecolabel and Ecoaudit Committee at the Italian Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security; member of the Corporate Governance Committee of Borsa Italiana, a privately held entity responsible for managing and supervising the proper operation of Italy’s financial market; member of the Executive Bureau of BusinessEurope; vice-president of the Committee of Market Participants and Investors in CONSOB, the Italian regulatory authority charged with supervising the financial market; member of the Supervisory Board, and afterword of the Board of Directors of Organismo Italiano di Contabilità – OIC, the Italian Accounting Standards Board.

As a specialized advisor, she contributed to reform projects led by various Italian Ministerial Committee. She authored a number of articles on taxation and accounting.

She takes part in charity initiatives, devoting particular attention to childhood issues; she is a member of the UNICEF- Italy Executive Board,  for inclusion and educational poverty.  Frequently recognized as a role model and mentor, she participates in initiatives dedicated to advancing female empowerment.
