FUTURA is an innovative prototype of an eco-friendly sailboat which can also use hydrogen-powered electric propulsion. 6 meters long, it weighs 600 kilograms, it can accommodate up to 3 passengers (plus the skipper) and it has 5 hours of autonomy at a cruising speed of 2.5 knots (approximately 4 km / h).

The first edition of the Summer School on hydrogen organized by the ENEA Energy Technologies and Renewable Sources Department together with Sapienza University of Rome and the Italian Association of Chemical Engineering was held from 21 to 23 September. The initiative had the aim of providing PhD students, researchers and young professionals with an overview on technology and a basis for comparison on the challenges to be faced for the development and sustainable integration of hydrogen in the Italian energy system.

The 8th World Conference on Photovoltaic Energy Conversion (WCPEC), the most important international conference on photovoltaics combining the world's three leading photovoltaic events, is under way in Milan at MiCo, the Milan Convention Centre, until Friday the 30th. Scientists, exhibitors and representatives of 180 companies and the research world from more than 50 countries will discuss the most significant advances and innovations on the path to generating electricity from the sun through increasingly innovative, efficient, sustainable and architecturally integrable photovoltaic technologies. For the first time the work will be coordinated by a woman and Italian researcher, Alessandra Scognamiglio of ENEA and the ENEA President Gilberto Dialuce also spoke at the opening ceremony.
