EU-India research needs and contemporary nanomaterials research for sustainable energy technologies

The partners forming the consortium of the EICOON project (Euro-Indo forum for nano-materials research coordination & cooperation of researchers in sustainable energy technologies, www.eicoon.eu), funded in part by FP7 (the Seventh EU Framework Programme on Research, Technological development and Demonstration Activities), have assessed the mutual EU-India research needs and researchers training needs in this field.
Eventually suggestions for topics of a Joint Call for research proposals were made to DG RTDI of the European Commission and DST (Department of Science and Technology) of the Government of India.
In addition, three scientific events (Summer Schools & workshops) were held in India and Europe to disseminate the research acquis of both regions and of the project findings to the various stakeholders from academia & industry as well as to policy makers and fund providers.
This event is about to further disseminate the project findings and results to a selected number of involved European platforms and associations active in materials and energy research as well as training and education for research. It will also provide the opportunity to share their views on the subject with the EICOON partners.
