PROGRAMMA

The NATO Science for Peace and Security (SPS) Programme is a policy tool that enhances cooperation and dialogue with all NATO partners, based on scientific research, innovation, and knowledge exchange. The Programme provides funding, expert advice, and support to security-relevant activities jointly developed by NATO member and partner countries, along the lines of science, partnership, security and beyond. Situated in the NATO Emerging Security Challenges Division, activities sponsored by the SPS Programme aim to promote civil, security-related practical cooperation, and focus on a growing range of contemporary security threats, including terrorism, defence against chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) agents, cyber defence, energy security and environmental concerns, as well as human and social aspects of security.

On October 21st 2015, a SPS Information Day will take place at the ENEA headquarter. The event aims to build partnerships, establish contacts between scientists and researchers in NATO and partner countries and inform them about the opportunities to develop joint SPS activities.

This event will provide a platform for scientists, experts as well as high level policy makers and government representatives from Italy and NATO partner countries to discuss opportunities for practical cooperation in the framework of the SPS Programme.

During the Info Day, an interactive session will allow scientists from NATO and partner nations to interact, network and exchange ideas for potential SPS activities. SPS staff will be present to answer any questions about the application process.

The SPS Information Day is open to interested scientists and experts from Italy as well as NATO partner nations.
